Even the classic shuriken comes in a wide variety of shapes. You will also have the rare opportunity to experience holding real ninja tools in your hands, such as sickles, tekokagi, and kunai. By learning the difficulty of using weapons and observing the masterful techniques honed by the leader over the years, you will be able to understand the true skills of a ninja.

What were the ninjas like, operating in the shadows of Japan’s glorious history? We offer a private tour of the Iga-ryu Ninja Museum, a relocated and restored ninja house where real ninjas lived, which is filled with historical documents documenting the tools owned by ninjas, their roots and secret techniques. By learning about the life of ninjas and the knowledge and wisdom they had to survive in turbulent times, you will see the harsh but practical life of ninjas, which is different from that in fiction. At first glance, the house looks like an ordinary old house, but it is filled with mechanisms for skillfully reading the psychology of attackers, hiding, and sometimes fighting.

Todo Takatora was a master of castle construction in the Edo period. It is said that Takatora had many ninjas under his command. The Iga-ryu Ninja Museum, located right next to Takatora’s castle, Iga Ueno Castle, is a faithful reproduction of a “ninja mansion” where real ninjas lived, built by moving a local feudal lord’s mansion from the end of the Edo period. The mansion is filled with elaborate mechanisms that are characteristic of ninja homes. The museum has the world’s largest collection of ninja historical materials, and exhibits documents that explore the roots of real ninjas, as well as tools that were actually used by ninjas. This time, only those who have applied for this tour will have the museum completely reserved for them after closing time, and they will experience a completely private tour of the museum with a dedicated guide.
