Kumihimo appeared as a key item in the anime movie “Your Name.” This cord, which is made by weaving together multiple threads, is a traditional craft that has been used since ancient times as a kimono obi fastener and a sword strap. Iga Kumihimo, one of the three major braided cord producing areas in Japan, is attractive for its beautiful patterns and strength created by the silk threads hand-woven by artisans. We offer an experience plan where you can assemble this braided cord yourself while listening to a lecture from a traditional craftsman. Experience a traditional Japanese craft and take home the item you have assembled with your own hands as a bracelet or keychain.
